The Health Check is used to establish:

  • Base lines across a range of BIM uses and model authoring standards.
  • Current status in project development workflows.
  • Identifies any pain points and gaps in the current skills base.

The outcome, a clearly defined set of observations and recommendations outlining potential improvements that will bring additional value to the project development process such as:

  • Decreasing the burden on review processes.
  • Improve communication between stakeholder.
  • Provide awareness of alternative solutions.
  • Exposure to recommended BIM standards based on global best practice.

Revit Project Health Check is a constructive review of one building that assesses current design methodologies against key BIM uses. The building model to be assessed will be determined either up-front or during an alignment kick-off call. Consultants may request the assembly to be extracted for remote investigation prior to commencement. This service must be evaluated for feasibility with complex projects. Project models requiring multiple structures, multiple teams, distributed locations, etc. may not fit within the scope of this fixed-price service. With the building model selected, a Consultant will interview the team about pain points with the current process and discuss project objectives. Project team members may include Project Managers, Department Leads, BIM Modelers, IT Support, and Executive Staff as determined. Consultants may also perform a high-level review of the IT infrastructure. Consultants will then gather the BIM models and other project information. Information may include model authoring files (*.RVT,*.DWG, etc.), BIM Standards, BIM Execution Plan, Model Development Specification, and BIM Use documentation. With the necessary material, consultants will perform analysis against the following BIM Uses: Model Authoring, Design Review, Design Coordination, Drawing Production, and Schedule Production. The audit may include considerations for Architectural, MEP, and Structural disciplines. After the model analysis, consultants will prepare a report of their findings. The report will cover suggested model enhancements, performance improvements, workflow improvements, and training or mentoring follow-up activities. Consultants will deliver a draft version of the Health Check Report so that feedback can be provided before a finalized document is delivered. The results and recommendations will be presented at the completion of the engagement.
